My Approach 

My approach to therapeutic transformation is one of experiential self-exploration, done within a safe and compassionate environment. By slowing down and mindfully paying attention to yourself, you become aware of what has previously been unconscious in you.  As you connect more deeply to yourself, you are able to transform your old limiting patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating into more healthy and satisfying ways of being.

Following is a brief description of several core elements of my approach.

A Safe Caring Space

My genuine care for the wellbeing of my clients is the heart of my approach. With deep listening I attune to your needs and pace. I create a safe and compassionate environment, where we work collaboratively and always with great respect. An atmosphere of acceptance, curiosity, caring, and enthusiasm runs throughout our time together. I’m there with and for you: encouraging, honoring, and cheering you on.

Learning More About Yourself

Another core aspect of my work is mindfulness. Mindfulness is simply our ability to notice our experience as it's happening. In this work we apply mindfulness in specific ways that allow you to see more clearly and deeply into yourself.   Mindfulness brings to light important aspects of yourself, which need to be addressed in order to create lasting transformation.

Experiencing Yourself

Talking about yourself can be a useful part of the therapeutic process. It's important to have a place to say how you feel and to truly be listened to without judgment. However, talking alone usually isn't enough for real change to occur. We need to directly sense, feel, and be with our experience as it's happening. This is an essential part of my approach.

Honoring Your Whole Self

With my approach, we address your whole self.  I work from the understanding that your mind, body, emotions, and spirit are all interconnected and mutually influential.  Each of these are important areas of exploration, insight, and transformation.

Strengthening Your Inner Self

My work is also grounded in an understanding that everything you need to live a rich and full life is already within you. We all have an array of innate internal capacities and resources available to us. Part of the work we do together often includes identifying, strengthening, and integrating these resources into your daily life.

We're In It Together

Therapeutic change is a collaborative process. I bring my self, my training, and my experience to the process.  What you bring is also very important for successful counseling. Your strengths and wisdom, your motivation for change, your willingness to be present with yourself, and your readiness to step into the unknown, are all needed for change to take place.
